School visit

Welcome to a school visit in Oulu City Schools! There are 46 comprehensive schools and 10 upper secondary schools in Oulu.

The school visit includes an introduction to the school, a tour of the school and an opportunity to observe the daily life and teaching of the school. You can also request a presentation or workshop on a specific topic (request in advance). The exact programme and content of the visit will depend on the duration and theme of the visit.

Duration:
- possible 1-6 hours, the most popular is 3 hours (includes school lunch)

Theme:
- Default topic: Finnish school and education
- Or on request, for example STEAM, nature and sustainability systems, entrepreneurship education and work life skills, emotional and security skills, global education.

Visits are possible during the academic year:
- from September to mid-December, and
- from mid-January to mid-May,
- except during school holidays (weeks 10 and 43, Christmas and Easter) and public holidays.

Booking a visit:
- Visits are only possible with prior reservation. Please send an email (eduoulu (at) ouka.fi) with the date and time of your request, the size of the group, the school level (primary/secondary/high school) and a possible theme request. Please also let us know if your visit will focus on architecture and/or history.
- The price is group specific. Fixed price for groups of 1-20 participants, based on the duration of the visit.
- Larger groups are possible for an additional fee. If necessary, we can also split the group into two schools.

Available for a separate fee and with advance booking:
- School lunch and/or
- coffee/tea and/or
- snack.
- The price for these is per person.

School visits are conducted in Finnish or English. The group may be accompanied by an interpreter.
